Hello,
I am encountering an issue with OlsAPP installation via OLSPanel where the installation does not persist.
Environment:
Server: VPS (Ubuntu)
Web Server: OpenLiteSpeed (running normally)
OLS Admin Panel: Fully functional
PHP: Working correctly (verified)
Installation Method:
Installed OlsAPP directly through the OLSPanel interface.
Issue Description:
After installing OlsAPP via the panel:
The panel briefly shows OlsAPP as installed
After refresh or navigation, it reverts back to “Not Installed”
This creates a loop where installation never persists
Current State:
OlsAPP files exist on the system:
/usr/local/OlsApp
/usr/local/lsws/Example/html/olsapp
Application structure is present (index.php, core, apps, etc.)
Marker files are created in user directories (e.g. /home/*/.olsapp, olsapp.txt)
However, the panel does not recognize the installation as valid
Additional Troubleshooting Performed:
Verified OpenLiteSpeed is running correctly
Confirmed PHP execution is working
Ensured correct file permissions (lsadm:nogroup)
Cleaned and regenerated marker files
Restarted OpenLiteSpeed multiple times
Resolved prior admin.sock issues
Attempted manual access via:
http://SERVER-IP:8088/olsapp/
but the application does not load properly
Observed Behavior:
It appears the panel performs a validation check after installation, and if any requirement fails (possibly HTTP response, socket, or internal check), it resets the status back to “Not Installed”.
Request:
Could you please clarify:
What exact conditions OLSPanel uses to determine if OlsAPP is installed?
What endpoint or service must respond successfully for validation?
Whether additional configuration (virtual host, rewrite rules, or backend service) is required
If the cpanel.sh or panel installer is currently incomplete or requires manual steps
This issue prevents OlsAPP from being usable, despite files being installed correctly.
I would appreciate guidance on resolving this or confirmation if this is a known issue.
Thank you
