Can’t use custom SSH Port

OLS panel can only use Port 22. I tried a custom port by changing directly in the SSH using CyberDuck and the OLS Panel. It has this error.
“Error: Failed to restart SSH service: Command '['systemctl', 'restart', 'sshd']' returned non-zero exit status 1.”
This can easily be done in the other panel. You need to reuse Port 22 to open the SSH.

bruh just do this :

chenge port in /etc/ssh/ssh_config

then restart services . that config file got restrart instructions if ur in ubuntu

obaidullahrion I did that then can't open SSH using the new port number. The Panel port in OLS used the custom port and also available in the Firewall Port. But can't open the SSH using a custom port. It can only use port 22 by putting it back in the Panel port.

I am using a diff port too . why would it work the port number has nothing to do with olspanel . ignore the panel change port from server if panel is causing issue :

It's not an issue if you change the port in that directory, you can't login in SSH using the custom port so you need to put back 22. It is easy to change the custom port but you can't open it.

Bruh u see I use port 4xxxx like that . in ubuntu 24.04 . and also i could change from the panel .this is mostly same for every linux bro . which distro r u in?

Also another think . after enabling a custom port check your firewall . you need to allow that specific port otherwise you cant connect

The port is unblock and I am using AlmaLinux 9. This is a very easy setup in other panels. It is not working and you are inventing.
