I see a lot of requests for billing system support (like Blesta and WHMCS plugins), and recently the community also discussed this in FOSSBilling’s issue tracker (https://github.com/FOSSBilling/FOSSBilling/issues/1362). So I want to suggest something that fits well with the open-source nature of OLSPanel:
Please consider official integration with FOSSBilling.
FOSSBilling is a fully open-source, community-driven project, and integrating it through an official module would allow both projects to benefit from better automation and interoperability without adding complexity to OLSPanel itself.
Key ideas:
- Official Module/Plugin — Let OLSPanel communicate with FOSSBilling through a stable API module.
- Automation Support — Allow automatic account creation, suspension, and deletion whenever the connected system triggers an action.
- Modular Architecture — FOSSBilling is already modular, so integrating it helps avoid reinventing features and keeps OLSPanel lightweight and focused.
Why this integration makes sense:
- Both projects share the same open-source philosophy.
- Integration promotes a healthy open-source ecosystem without requiring OLSPanel to expand into non-core areas.
- It enables optional automation for those who want it, while OLSPanel remains clean and minimal for users who prefer manual management.
